Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Work-life balance has become an increasingly important issue in the modern workplace, as employees seek to achieve a healthy equilibrium between their professional and personal lives. Corporate communication plays a key role in promoting work-life balance policies within organizations by ensuring that employees are aware of available benefits, policies, and resources. In Donga Local Government Area, Taraba State, businesses are adopting work-life balance policies to improve employee satisfaction, reduce stress, and enhance productivity. Effective communication of these policies is essential for their success, as it helps employees understand their rights and how to utilize the available resources (Abubakar & Salihu, 2024). This study examines the role of corporate communication in promoting and enhancing work-life balance policies in Donga Local Government Area.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the growing emphasis on work-life balance, many organizations in Donga Local Government Area struggle with effectively communicating their work-life balance policies to employees. This lack of awareness can result in low utilization of available benefits and dissatisfaction among employees. This study seeks to investigate how corporate communication strategies can enhance the effectiveness of work-life balance policies and improve employee well-being in the region.

1.3 Objectives of the Study

1.6 Significance of the Study
This study will provide valuable insights into how businesses in Donga Local Government Area can improve the communication and effectiveness of their work-life balance policies, leading to enhanced employee well-being, satisfaction, and productivity.

1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study focuses on corporate communication and work-life balance policies within organizations in Donga Local Government Area, Taraba State.
